Tagged by KC: 8 Facts

Each writer must post these rules first.
* Each one starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* People that are tagged need to write their own entry about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read what you wrote.

Hahaha…uu nga KC mahirap nga ito! Oh gosh. Well. Um…Ok…Getting ready…I’m set…Game!

Fact 1: When I’m inside the house I love to take my pillow everywhere I go. I’d eat at the dining table with my pillow on my lap. I think it’s easier to say that I’m a bedroom type of person. I don’t think there such a term as ‘bedroom-type-of-person’. That’s unique!
Fact 2: I’m childlike (not childish okay). There’s always the inner child in me. I don’t mind watching all Barbie’s movies, Spongebob Square pants, Shrek, The Disney Classics and still get so kilig and inspired to find my own price charming.
Fact 3: My room is my personal paradise. Once inside, I transform into a silk satin sheet graceful in the breeze. I could sleep, wake and daydream when I want to. No rules pag nasa loob ako ng kwarto ko except lang kung ii-invade na ng mga kapatid ko then my room transforms into a defense force.
Fact 4: I am a crazy little party girl. I love to dance with the whole crowd around me and with blaring house music all over the place. I want to throw my hands up high and dance ala Lindsay Lohan.
Fact 5: I’m Ambidextrous! That's writing and drawing ah, pero not at the same time. Yeah. So move over Leonardo Da Vinci. Hehe just kidding.
Fact 6: I love Mango juice and Yogurts so much I have no trouble with my metabolism anymore. I do juice fasting every once in a while to help detoxify my inner cells. Both remains an addiction though that I often have myself 3 bottles of Mango juice (Nature’s Harvest, okay) and 2 bottles of Yogurt a day. Imagine that!
Fact 7: I hate the smell and taste of Vinegar. It really is the foulest smelling food seasoning (whatever it is for) I’ve ever known. Enough said. So Mom, you know this very well. Just please, be gentle on me and put down that Datu Puti Suka for Adobo or I’m having lunch outside.
Fact 8: I know how to play the piano but can’t sing with it. You know how my multi-tasking skills deceive me sometimes that when I brag about it to my Lola and start playing her my compositions I start biting my nails and so she starts laughing her head off thinking I’m such an airhead. Hmp, bwiset!

Happy Birthday Ate Lems! Punta ako sa inyo dyan later. Kita-kits!

Back to Work

Yeah...after a series of shopping galore as a gift for myself on my birthday, I am now back to work. Indeed. So, since last week I'd been working my head-off to do research, competitor study, blog things and all the IT stuff. Argh! Oh please don't get me wrong. I love my new job and the way I'm living my new life. Gosh, nothing beats the morning sun and the night breeze. Oh, I could go on like this forever! So there, just dropping by to say a few things about what has been going on lately.

I'm outta here. I'll catch up some more insights about my entire workload when I get some more time. By the way the Saturday Basher Girls are reuniting pretty soon. Catch me up on that. Till next time!

Note: While keying in this blog entry the competitor study that we've been finishing for almost the entire week has already been submitted to the bosses. Yup, that's right. We do competitor study. And my share on the report is to watch all the recorded videos about this company's features, screen them, study them, mess around with them, and eventually get something out of it. I had passed my report since yesterday but got edited to basically just for compressing purposes and so as not to bore the readers. Aw!

Make A Wish

Last night - June 16 - I spent my 23rd birthday in our house in Antipolo (as always). Well, it really wasn’t much you know but I was just more than surprised when I realized one thing while blowing the candles on my birthday cake.

It was 11:30 in the evening when my sister Iris lighted the candles on my cute Silvanas cake that I bought at The Shang. I kind of really felt weird because I was thinking that I haven’t really done this for a long time now. I was suddenly back to my childhood for but then I started to hear them sing the Happy Birthday song and so I was jolted out to my reverie. I saw the lights flicker right in front of my eyes and it warmed me. I closed my eyes and began to think of a wish, a wish that I couldn’t really figure out what. As the song ended I was still lost in the darkness of my closed eyes, wishing I could make out a wish even just for this very moment. I kept my eyes tightly shut for over a minute until I’ve completed my wish. I opened my eyes again and saw my entire family clapping. As we were helping ourselves with the main courses is when the feeling starts to get weirder. I found myself childishly smiling at the people around me like a seven year old girl being presented a pile of gifts wrapped in fancy papers only I am no longer a young girl but a grown up lady of 23 and is not presented a pile of gifts wrapped in fancy paper but is moving and breathing right before my very eyes. I took my share of the Roast Chicken and started eating.

I just couldn’t stop about a lot of stuff now really. I can’t help but wonder why I came up with that wish. I kept asking myself, why, of all wishes that I have in my entire existence, in an almost every day of my life, that was the only wish I was able to make?

But this isn't the only thing that's really funny about my birthday but the entire preparation as well. Uhm, well, I'm not sure there really was any preparation at all because I didn't really want them to do anything like that, nor did I show them any sign I want my birthday to even be celebrated.

I started the day at an early 6am departure from home, trying so hard to make it on time for the team brainstorming in Makati which by the way is God's advanced birthday gift to me - a chance at KeywordSpy. Anyway, so it started there. I came to work as if nothing is special about me today and lucky enough because it worked! No one knew about my birthday. On my way home, I texted Papa that I'll be a little late because MRT is just so unbelievably crowded today that I'll be staying at the mall for an hour until the crowd has gone. So I went around Glorietta for awhile (which I had been doing for the almost 3 days in a row). I dropped by Celine and shopped for some attractive pair of flats and went home feeling back to being ordinary again. I was at The Shang when I saw one of the pretties cakes at Silvanas and didn't waste a minute to have it wrapped for me. By this time I'm already feeling more than the ordinary. On my way home I was forever texting my sister as to where's the only restaurant in Antipolo that's still open (because it's almost 10pm), she said KFC near Shopwise and so I asked her to reserve seats or some sort. Getting there in a blaze and finding KFC not as appealing or as tempting I thought it would be was not a surprise to me as if nothing would ever dampen the spirit of the birthday girl except for the rain (oops, that’s just Sam from Lord of the Rings talking from inside of me).

So we’re all home now, my mama, papa my ever so bloated brother Nico and my almost always unpredictable sister Iris who had the most resounding voice at the note of the Happy Birthday song for me.

Well, that was the birthday party. The after-party was back in my room and praying that this day never ends, that I could still have the chance to be an impulsive shopper for a day and spend all the money I have on shoes, bags, cute shirts and pants, that I could always eat cakes and ice creams and spaghettis and Roasted Chicken and drink glasses after glasses of soda, that I could always sleep late at nights and would not mind about tomorrows’ work load, that I could still be a child again presented with gifts wrapped in fancy papers and that I could get another blow on the candle to make a wish

Happy Birthday to me...

The Countdown Begins thru Cake

------------------------------------------------

It’s officially one (1) week before my birthday, and this is the only time I confirmed this. Ha-ha. I’m not used to doing this but I’m really kind of excited (well, not exactly all excited, you know) but it’s all gonna be good.

Something reminded me of my birthday yesterday and it’s definitely the Chocolate Mousse Cake from Dell’s that I ate for lunch. It was really yummy and so sugary that it took my energy and my family history of diabetes to a different level. Sigh, I can only manage to eat a slice or else I won’t be able to think like a normal human being after that.

While playing with my thoughts about how wonderful I feel as of the moment I started browsing the net for some really interesting images of cakes that I’d love to have for my birthday. Hmm, I just hope mama and papa is watching. *wink, wink*

Let's start with my ultimate favorite cake of all cakes. Chocolate Mousse. This image is from Red Ribbon, which also happens to be the sweetest cake franchise in the entire Philippines. Why? Well, let's just say that on many special occasions Red Ribbon has served me and my family with so much courteousness that no ordinary Filipino would expect from a really well-known food joint. Okey, so isn't this supposed to be all about me?

Another cake from Red Ribbon that is never last in my family's list of must-haves on the table for special occasions. The Black Forest is also responsible for my brothers' first taste of wine.

Haagen Dazs' Belgian Choco Seduction. Need I say more? Yeah. Seduction, like this cake is the all-time teaser of the Haagen Daz Store.

Perfect Harmony by Haagen Daz. So who ever says there's no equality in this world has never been to a Haagen Daz store. Because seriously, if you're looking for Perfect Harmony, like what I do, I'd just drop by their store at The Shang. He-he. Peace!

Bailey's Cheesecake. All right you guys, let's just say you're just so bored with your usual latte that you want to start drinking but doesn't want the smell of it since you'd need to be back home to mom. Well, here's the answer to that. Oh, sorry, I was referring to Bailey's, the drink.

Here are some curious looking cakes that really made me look them up on web. White-Chocolate Mousse and Strawberry Cheescake By Filomena Gourmet Bakery in Georgetown. She's an international success in creating dessert selections such as the ones posted. She also caters all different kinds of Choco Mousse Cakes that would really mock your favorite list. From White Chocolate Mousse to Triple Chocolate, Macadamia Nut, Chocolate Caramel, to Raspberry, oh gosh, you name it. Wow! That's 25 years of sweet success. Here's an interesting fact about Madame Filomena Ristorante of Georgetown and her renowned gourmet bakery: Did you know that her Chef's were once bakers for the President of the United States and as well as some of other high ranking dignitaries? Sounds really fascinating eh?

Haayy, so those were the 7 cakes I'd like to have for my birthday this coming Monday - June 16. Aw! Now this is really formally announcing it, Ayin. Bash! Now for those who're waiting for treat, party or whatever, I'm not really sure about that you know. I called in for some reinforcement on my financial status from my parents and so I can't be too sure if there'd be some kind of a you-know-what party. He-he. Standby for updates though.

"The Habit"

I saw this Ad online today and so I started writing this blog post. So fitting, I told myself.

I’m a smoker. Yes. This is true. I’ve been smoking since 2005 and since then I had the hardest times getting out of the habit. Now, I’m kicking it out of my system. Today marks the first week of my being a smoke-free individual. I know I haven’t progressed that much, you know, but honestly I’m really working hard to stay away from it.

I used to make so many excuses just to have a reason to grab a stick. If I sense a really stressful workload ahead I’d runaway from my post, go out of the building, light a stick and I’m adrift. Many times I’ve thought smoking as a great activity to bond with my friends. That’s because most of them smokes. But isn’t that a wonderful reason to continue smoking? I want to spend time with my friends after work so I could shake the stress away and just have fun and talk while holding a cigar. It's sort of a tool to bring us all together, huddle-up (with the absence of beer), talk, open-up and confide. It simply makes EVERY social gathering pleasurable that you’d want to stay there together a lot longer. So there, Smoking galore!

Well, I’m enough of this. I’m grabbing a stick later. I can’t quit smoking and live to tell the story. I can’t just get over it right now. I’m sorry but I think it’s too hard to stop. For now, the habit stays.

Chocolate Therapy

I was doing the usual Link Building for my new blog site - http://aynakowes-notebook.blogspot.com, when I had a sudden Migraine attack. It was really bad that I was forced to buy me something sweet to eat. Nothing satisfying was available so I grabbed my favorite Oishi's Pillows. I thought it much better than grabbing a stick to light if I'm staying away from it. He-he.
When I went back surfing the net I stumbled in a thought of yearning. It was my sweet tooth singing. Chocolates my sweet, it said. The voice kept ringing until I was stuffed with such an emotional turmoil that took me the entire afternoon to get rid of. I didn’t notice I was already pestering my friend KC about my condition that she told me it must've been my cigarette withdrawal (it's been a week since I last piped a cigarette). I refused to believe and so I forced myself to just concentrate on my link building project. Couple more hours and the thought still nag (not to mention the Migraine killing me). I stuffed in some of Pillows and I was sold. Now, my quick fix for a stubborn Migraine is just a bag of Pillows.
Suddenly, a whole new world of fondness embraced me like a real Pillow hug. But it wasn’t just Pillow anymore. It’s Chocolate itself. I realized I’m melting to a new addiction – Chocolates!

Well, I think I’m solved for now. So for you, here’s some Chocolate Quotes. Go ahead muse yourself. Grab a bite of that chocolate bar. Indulge!
* There are four basic food groups-milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate and chocolate truffles.
* Man cannot live on chocolate alone; but woman sure can.
* Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands - and then eat just one of the pieces
* A little too much chocolate is just about right.
* All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!
* Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.
* Among life's mysteries is how a two pound box of chocolate can make a woman gain five pounds.
* Stress wouldn’t be so hard to take if it were chocolate covered.
* Eat a square meal a day - a box of chocolate.

* Chocolate causes certain endocrine glands to secrete hormones that affect your feelings and behavior by making you happy. Therefore, it counteracts depression, in turn reducing the stress of depression. Your stress-free life helps you maintain a youthful disposition, both physically and mentally. So, eat lots of chocolate.

These are a few of my favorite things...

I love Coke Light for breakfast! Sorry Ma, I just can't help it! If I can't get myself to the nearest Starbucks or just a self-made cup of coffee, you'd see me tossing a bottle (or a can) of Coke Lights (or the latest Coke Zero). Just can't contain my draught that's it.

I love Chocolate Cakes! This is my comfort food aside from chocolate itself and coffee. Oopps! Is coffee considered a food? Well, for me it is. He-he.

I love coffee!
I'm a self-confessed coffee addict. I could down two (2) cups in one sitting with a book at hand and would entirely forget what I'm reading. It's my fuel in the morning and at night. If times are hard I'd come running for a cup and just sit beside my window, stargazing. But if it's Saturday and the Basher Girls are around I'll be out brewing coffee at Starbucks with them. Cheers!

I love the Beach and getting myself tanned and believe me when I say I want to. I'm really a frustrated Filipina you know.

I love the night time. It treats romance with coldness so daylight can come shining in giving warmth to the heart. The stars are a different story though...

I love Naruto Shippuden! This, I think, out of all the Japanese animated series I've watched has the best, if not has the most kicker interpretation of the word 'Friendship'. Well of course we can count Furuba in.

So if I'm talking Japanese animation you won't miss me saying the word "Chi.." This anime for me is the most romantic of all that I've seen. Okey, so I'm not a real fan, well so what?! I don't really care about all of them animes, all I care is how credible the stories are and if they're really worth watching. Chobits is one series I'd watch in line with any Julia Robert's flick. Chi is just sooo cute!

I love writing stories. I am by far the most frustrated writer of all the Saturday Basher Girls. He-he. Well, that's because I'm the only one who hasn't been given a chance to take on a professional stint in writing. Oh well, I think my time will come. *giggles*

I Love Paulo Coelho! He's just such a brilliant writer whom I'd like to have a cup of coffee with when I become a successful writer. Ahi-hi.

Well, these are just a few of my favorite things. I know I'm into so many things but time can only permit me to show you just some of theme for now. I'll have them presented to you so other time though. He-he.

Si Nightmare at si Puling

For some reasons my younger brother and sister are not home for the summer. They’re in some part of the world, far from the defiant stares of our folks. They say all is good, that they’ll be back before the start of terms (next week). But still nothing’s been the same without them around the house.

I call my brother Nico – Nightmare and my sister Iris – Puling. They’re the cutest for me, both huggable and so entertaining to be with. Nightmare was the one who introduced me to a whole new world of anime, especially Chobits and Naruto, and the one who is to blame for my busted pc. I’d always catch him sneaking around my room to try the newly installed RC games when he thought I’m still asleep and would sometimes try to impress me by creating some photo manipulations in Photoshop. “Hay, kids, always playing on the microphone. Doing things…blah-blah-blah…”

Iris or Puling is the middle child. And as a middle child she’s expected to be the weirdest. Turns out she’s the only one upright. Bash! When we were younger, about like years before Nightmare came, she was my baby. I’d be her super ate in school who’d shoo off her bully classmates tormenting her in the hallways because she’s fat. But now she’s really bigger than me (not to mention looks older) and I am now the one who’s always in trouble looking for cover so I’d just slide behind her when the going gets tough.

I miss my siblings so much now that when I go out of my room and would see the closed doors of Puling’s room and the stashed Naruto DVD’s of Nightmare I’d go like, “Have we grown up that much now or what is just me aging?”

Dream Away

Well, what can I do then, eh? This is now the usual me, unpredictable, unstable, always confused, always wonder, and is close to being so dumb. Yikes! My days were never the same since I left work and chose a laid-off life, unwaged and utterly useless. Must be my head revolting now like saying, "This is not you, Ayin! Get up you lazy fool!" But I really can’t do anything about that now, right? I have a great deal of reasons why I left and one of them is this: My Medical Condition. I have failing Potassium intake and was told to stop fooling myself that I could still get enough from working at night and sleeping in the day. Sleep in the morning isn’t good enough to cover the sleep you’re supposed to do at night, my doctor told me. So just rest on Ayin and take life easy now soon you’ll get better. Go ahead, indulge in that warm and balmy bed of yours let the stars to light your night and the wind from the wide open windows serenade you to sleep until the morning comes to let the daylight in.
